Worldwide SICA Communication (by Hamilton Cheifetz)

At the invitation of Rusydah Ziesel, Chair of SICA International, we had a Zoom conversation on Sunday, November 3 which was uplifting. Joining the call was Susilawati Bryant, Chair of SICA Canada and Paul Nelson, Secretary of SICA USA and yours truly, Chair of SICA USA. We discussed the shared vision of SICA as a way to help people discover and nurture their true talents and the establishment of a “talent bank”, which would include a database of members’ skills in the arts and sciences.

I personally felt inspired and encouraged by our conversation, and we plan to continue this international conversation on a monthly basis as we go forward. Future calls will hopefully include the Chairs of SICA in other countries.  After working with a growing and evolving SICA USA board for the last few years, it felt very good to connect on a global level and share our plans and vision for meaningful SICA work.

  1. This is exciting to hear. I love the shared vision of SICA as a way for individuals to discover and nurture their true talent. Both the discovering, and the NURTURING. Many of us have underestimated the powerful effect that can have – for us as individuals as well as for our communities and the world.

  2. Thanks to Hamilton and everyone in SICA for this call, and for ALL you (&we) are doing! Remembering Bapak’s comments on the development of Kebudayan (sp?) , I celebrate that you are expanding our understanding and abilities to envision and embody ” a way to help people discover and nurture their true talents ….” KUDOS and as Hamid Camp loved to say “Let us continya”!!
