CALLS FOR ENTRIES

Im/Plants Program at National Sculpture Factory (Cork, Ireland)
Deadline: 6/9/14
NSF Im/Plants proposes a program of seasonal implantations (insertions) into the National Sculpture Factory. This project is open to Irish and international artists, curators, independent art groups, individual cultural and spatial practitioners, and collectives across all art disciplines. Artists/participants are implanted as productive agents, that is, invited to respond to the specificity of the National Sculpture Factory – as a site for manufacture; as a host organism; as a seedbed for propagation – in order to test, affect or re-imagine the boundaries of what the art organization can be through alternative forms of production. Each implant is of a 3-month duration and is programmed to happen seasonally. It is self-directing and self-sufficient, with an overall stipend of €3,000 and with access to the full resources and supports of the NSF, adapted to the needs of each specific applicant. nationalsculpturefactory.com

Fungiculture Issue#1 – Collaborative Cultivations
Abstract Submission Deadline: 6/15/14
Fungiculture is the psychedelic journal for cultural studies: a space for the experimental and playful cultivation of ideas and practices, for cross-pollinations amongst theoretical attitudes, for imagining with, between, through, alongside and against the thought of others. In this vein, we are delighted to announce that our first issue, ‘Collaborative Cultivations,’ shall explore and galvanize collaboration as methodology and aggregating thread. We invite proposals that are specifically conceived and realized as collaborative efforts in research and speculation, focusing on any subject of interest within the study of culture. Submissions may engage with, but are not limited to discourses surrounding media studies, radical politics, aesthetics, ethics, philosophy, queer and affect theory. The selected projects will be released weekly on the Fungiculture online platform over a set period of time, inhabiting a space of further dialogue and debate. At the end of this period, the projects will be compiled as a pdf anthology available for download. Send to: hello@fufufo.com
