Rohana Laing is a long-time Subud member (former International Helper and currently a national Helper) and artist who lives on Vancouver Island. Rohana went to art school in the early 1960s where she studied painting and print-making. In the 1970s, she developed a unique style of batik fabric paintings. Rohana’s paintings are influenced by her love of textiles, pattern, design and folk art from many cultures. She is inspired by bright colours, old buildings and scenes with people in action. Until last year’s pandemic shutdown, Rohana lived in Mexico in the winter and on Vancouver Island in the summer.
This is truly wonderful! I am truly excited about this series! Can’t wait to see Rohana Laing!
