The Video Reconciliation Project

Subud member Sylvia Mejia checks in with this news:

Dear Paul,
Thanks for your quick reply.
My work is not explicitly poetic but I trust that as a poet, you will be able to appreciate and find poetry either visually or in words. Some of the music is also composed by me.
In October 2018, I finished the editing of this 28 minutes video for Colombian Television. The Video Reconciliation project was sponsored by the Peace Mission of the Organization of American States and financed by the embassy of South Korea in Colombia.
In this project we worked with women who had lived the armed conflict from different perspectives. Basically they were very disempowered  women who accepted to work together with other women whom they historically conceived as war enemies but ended up transcending differences and embracing  love as the essence that can bring us true peace. We used the Video-Transformation methodologies, and idea that came from my soul and made me a lifetime fellow of Ashoka innovators for the Public. www.ashoka.org
Basically using video technology to transform people’s lives. In this case to empower and reconcile actors of a terrible war, through inner peace. The process empowered and transformed the lives of these women and many more around them.
I understand SICA fosters true human culture that originates in the human soul. Wants to share this culture with mankind. So I think my work is compatible with this mission.
Please take the time to see it, if possible with headphones or good sound.
I want to meet other Subud Artists in USA. (sylviamejia (at) gmail (dot) com)
Blessings,
Sylvia
