SICA: The Art of Living

SICA: The Art of Living is a film made in 1990 by David van Noortwijk and copyrighted by him. David is a filmmaker and teacher in Kalimantan. The film has an introduction and is narrated by Hartati Horthy who explains beautifully the meaning of culture and inner culture. The film is in nine segments:
- Laila Dempster paints and remarks on her work.
2. Wayne Lerrigo demonstrates using his computer keyboard to create electronic music.
3. Asti Syafrudin, sings on Indonesian public television. She is one of Bapak’s grandchildren; the daughter of Ibu Yati who also wanted to be an artist and singer.
4. Salamah Pope tells us how to look at the four levels in Bapak’s philosophy: mineral, vegetable, animal, and human as the structure of this world.
5. Hermina (Ruiz) Dobson, business woman and cheese maker expresses culture in her work.
6. Dahlyani Bakker worked with Sailan Brugger, a small child with a learning challenge, to express his inner self.
7. Painter Rashid Carre expresses his views of turning inspiration into shapes and explores man and his culture.
8. Luluk Purwanto and Rene Van Helsdinger play music together as creative jazz musicians.
9. Silversmith and sulpturer, Vivianna Bulow Hube’s sculpture is viewed with music by Mathieu Corzet and words of Bapak about culture.
