Emmanuel Williams: Photographing These Holes

I seem to be evolving a new (for me!) process of creation. Here’s an example. Up here In the mountains are lots of oak trees… some of them grow holes, and I began imagining beings from elsewhere that live in these holes. I started, then spent hours writing a poem which is – as it were- dictated by these beings. Then I loaded the best oakhole images on to IMovie, recorded the poem on Garageband, moved it to ITunes then to IMovie as soundtrack to go with the oakhole images, played around with it so that it all fitted, then posted it on YouTube. Then watched and listened to it on the TV. Came out pretty well. About 2 minutes long. It’s called Welcome. Here’s the link in case you wanna watch it.

  2. I love the way the enhanced voice-over (reverb) sounds as if its coming from a deep dark oak hole. Emmanuel should be doing Audio Books with his Vincent Price voice.
I always thought those holes were inhabited by benevolent beings as well as honey bees. Nice work. More?
