This was an enjoyable concert because everyone played exceptionally well! All the players came to our one rehearsal well-prepared, and then brought the same positive attitude to the gig. Here’s a link to an audio clip:
We were also joined by poet Paul Nelson who read poems from his recently published anthology Winter in America (again. It was compiled in the 100 days between the 2024 election and inauguration day and includes submissions from 100 poets. Here is the link to Paul’s performance of one of his poems during our concert:
On our concert break, Hannah Rice and Alia Swersky performed, accompanied by guitarist Sandesh Nagaraj and percussionist Jonathan Rodriguez. They performed site- specific improvised dance with roots in Butoh.
